Crepe Back Satin Fabric

Crepe back satin is a wonderfully versatile fabric offering the luxurious look and feel of satin on one side with the soft feel of crepe on the other side. This reversible fabric is made in a silk satin for the ultimate in luxury, or you can choose the more affordable polyester satin. Silk crepe back satin requires a bit more care in that it must be hand washed or dry cleaned and stored properly, while polyester crepe back satin is machine washable and dryable.

Crepe back satin is the perfect choice for that special occasion dress. This might include a wedding gown, bridesmaid and mother of the bride dresses, prom dress or that cocktail dress you reach for time and again because it feels so good and fits so perfectly. It comes in a 60” width making it easy to create items without a seam. This is important if you are trying to sew a wedding gown with a large skirt, for example, that cannot have multiple seams running through it.

The fact that crepe back satin is reversible allows you to be creative. You can sew a quilt with contrasting squares of satin and crepe for a romantic bedroom.
