A Peek at Fall Fashion

Glamour Magazine reports that New York designers have already begun showing some of their new creations for the coming fall and it is not even officially summer yet.

Red, purple, and wine shades, always perennial autumn shades, are popular with many designers this year.  Tommy Hilfiger is introducing shiny burgundy coats.

If you have a darker complexion you will look good in brick reds and other dark shades.  Lighter complexions look great in shades with a hint of blue, such as some of the popular plum shades.

These fall colors can be mixed with brighter colors, such as cobalt, emerald green, and mustard. Mixing fabric textures is going to be big this fall as well.  You can go conservative with a textured wool jacket and a smooth fabric dress or wild with flannel and minky.

Leather, faux leather, and decor fabrics make excellent handbags.

Large, lovely handbags in jeweled colors are still going to be very popular.  If you sew and have never made a purse, go ahead and give it a try. Ready-made handbag patterns range from easy to challenging. Décor fabrics and faux leathers make wonderful bags. Beautiful garment lining fabrics are excellent for bags and cotton prints can also be used for handbag linings.
