On the 12th day of Christmas….twelve decorating goals for 2011
My true love got a bit jealous with all the leaping lords and piping pipers so he skipped nine, ten and eleven and jumped all the way to the last day of Christmas. His gift of twelve decorating goals takes us into the new year with an idea of what we want to accomplish in our decorating over the next twelve months. This is a great exercise for anyone to do as it keeps you focused and on track. This will:
- Save you $$$ and that is definitely a goal we all should have for the upcoming year. If you have a specific goal in mind you will be able to avoid impulse purchases that do not fit into your design plan.
- Allow you to actually complete a room. How often have you made some mental plans of what you would like, purchase a few items and then never complete the room? This happens to me quite often. An actual goal will encourage you to complete the project.
- Making a list and checking it twice (oh yea, that holiday is over) and scratching off completed items is psychologically rewarding. And who doesn’t need that these days?!
- At the end of the year you will have a home that is beautifully decorated, in good repair and welcoming to your family and your guests.
And that is what home is all about!

You’re totally reminding us how important is to write down our goals for the new year! Celebrate well!

Hi guys
I read your own posts on what a wonderful year 2010 was for you so you probably dont need goals for next year…they are already determined. Love your blog and your work and thanks for commenting on our blog. Look forward to more beautiful table settings and room designs from you this year. And I will continue to ask you both when you can move in with me???
