Unique Bridal Headwear

Many brides find the fascinator fascinating. These headpieces are easy to make.

Traditional veils are a lovely addition to your wedding dress and are easy to fashion, but some brides prefer more unique headgear.   Hats, scarves, and headbands can all be wonderful choices.

Picture hats are wonderful when you want a romantic Southern look. A strip of chiffon or tulle can be tied around the hat in a large bow. Artificial flowers look charming on a picture hat. Flowers for bridal hats can be any color you desire; you don’t have stick to white or cream. If you would like to slightly veil your face, use tulle or Russian veiling. Veiled hats are very alluring and have stayed on the fashion scene for over a century. They were a big hit with the  film stars of the 1930s and 1940s.

Dotted Russian Netting

Pillbox hats with Russian veiling can be charming.  Russian veiling is an especially designed netting  used exclusively for hats.  You can fashion your own pillbox hat using buckram and a fabric cover.

Standard Russian Netting

Barely there fascinators are another option. We all know what royal personage has made these popular.  Fascinators are easy to make with netting, flowers, and feathers.

Chiffon scarves and headbands can accompany a dress that has that Grecian look.  The emphasis is on simplicity and elegance.  A chiffon scarf wrapped around an upswept hairdo and then allowed to drape elegantly down the back is a wonderful, luxurious choice instead of a veil.
