Yellow and Grey take Center Stage
I have talked about classic fall colors to renew your décor, but this year some other interesting color trends have developed. Yellow and grey, hues you generally don’t think about as going together, have become a popular color combo for interior design.
This winning duo can be used in both trendy modern settings, like the minimalist living room shown above and in classic traditional settings. It is great to bring life to older furniture shapes by re-upholstering them in new modern hues. As I love to mention, you can always blend new colors into your décor by making items like pillows and throws.
The yellow and grey combination is a winner for many rooms. It would look cheerful in a kitchen or breakfast nook and elegant in a formal dining room. Try painting the walls or cabinets grey and adding yellow or yellow print curtains and seat cushions. Re-upholstering the seat cushions of dining or occasional chairs is a simple operation; it does not require sewing.
This is a fun look for baths and bedrooms too. If you love large splashes of yellow, paint your walls yellow and use grey fabric for the bedding and curtains, and other accessories.
