Netting
All Netting

Netting is a man-made fabric made of nylon. While netting is most often associated with bridal veils and ballerina tutus, this versatile fabric comes in many colors and has many uses.

Fabric netting just might be the most common fabric found at a wedding. Not only is the veil most likely made from netting but the bridal gown petticoat probably has a bit of netting around the hem to make the skirt stand out. Netting is used as bows around gifts, attached to the ends of the pews, wrapped around the gazebo of an outdoor ceremony, as table toppers, wrapped around the backs of chairs etc. The list of uses for netting at a wedding ceremony or any festive occasion goes on and on.

Netting can even be used outdoors. Wrapping small plants or seedlings with netting will protect them from predators such as bunnies, bugs and birds. Black nylon netting can be used to cover small ponds or to keep birds out of your garden.

The use of netting in home decorating can add a special feel to certain rooms. A canopy of netting over a bassinet or a little girl’s bed will add a magical touch to these rooms. In the master bedroom a mosquito tent effect can be created with netting to make you feel as if you are in the tropics; without the bugs. Crafters can also enjoy using this very affordable and versatile fabric.
