Do you use glue to hold in place? If so, what kind
A shopper on Oct 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: We used regular wood glue and also staples. It is working very well for us as our use was for doors on our sound system cabinets.
How do you attach this to a chair?
A shopper on Feb 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Here's a good tutorial on how to do that:
I'm needing a darker wicker is this something you could stain darker?
A shopper on Sep 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This cane webbing has a finish on it and will not absorb stain.
What finish do you use on caning?
A shopper on Apr 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No finish is required. In fact, it's best not to finish it so it stays breathable and flexible. It will naturally darken over time. If anything, use a furniture polish with a high oil content. It's possible to stain it with an oil-based wood stain, but if you do so, we suggest only staining one side so the other side remains breathable.
Does it come with the piece of cake strip that holds the whisker in place?
A shopper on Mar 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is just the webbing, but we will be adding spline to our site shortly!
What do I need to replace seat?
A shopper on Apr 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You will need spline and caning chisels. We will be adding the spline in the near future and the chisels will also be available at a later date. You can use wood glue to glue in the spline.
is this appropriate for replacement caning on an antique child's rocker?
A shopper on Feb 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Without seeing a photo we can't say for sure, but it should be.
How do I figure how much I need - the cane I can see on my chairs measure 10 1/2 x 10 1/2 and I know I need at least 1" on all sides so approximately 12 x 12 times 4 chairs?
A shopper on Sep 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: From your measurements and the width of this cane webbing, it sounds like you will need at least 4 feet to cover your 4 chairs. 5 feet would be safer in case you need more room on the sides.
