Why did you choose this?
What are the recommended washing instructions for this fabric? Any idea of what percentage that it may shrink?
BEST ANSWER: Hi,
I put mine through the machine on a medium-low heat, quick wash (25 mins). I dry it on a casual program, low heat setting. It comes out fine.
How much fabric comes on a roll or bolt? If I order 60 yards will it be one continuous piece of fabric?
BEST ANSWER: Contact our customer service at either email@example.com or 877-781-2967 Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm EST.
Would like to use for curtains on a porch during warm weather. Is this fabric appropriate for that use?
BEST ANSWER: I bought it to use as cheers in the bedroom so nobody can see in but we get the light. I would think that the voile on a porch will b exposed to the wind and rain. I think I would not use it and look for similar material but sturdier.
How many continuous yards are on a roll?
BEST ANSWER: I purchased 22 yards for a summer wedding to dress walls in a barn and to use as draping. Not sure how many yards total is in a roll when purchased, but, I did not have any pieces of cut fabric in my roll. I think its between 24 & 25 yards on a roll.
I purchased this fabric about four years ago to use on my screened in porch as a privacy barrier. There was enough opaqueness draped across as panels, but, did not totally block the sun from shining through.
I'll be purchasing again when my porch panels need to be replaced. Very light hand with this fabric too. Can be ironed using a low setting or steamed.
I hope this helped.
Can voile be used to sew slips? Does it have a smooth feel to it? Sorry to be so ignorant! Need something light to either line coarsely woven linen or to sew into a long petticoat to be wornout under long pants.
BEST ANSWER: It can be used for slips but is most commonly used for window treatments. Another couple of options are tricot and charmeuse.
I'm looking for a lightweight sheer white fabric that drapes nicely for a costume and wasn't sure what the best type would be. Any suggestions?
BEST ANSWER: This voile drapes nicely. Another option is chiffon, which is a little less sheer than voile but also drapes well.
Are Readymade sheers available?
BEST ANSWER: We don't sell readymade sheers or other window treatments.
I want to make Austrian curtains for a bedroom where privacy is not an issue. Would this work for that purpose? Thanks. Love all your Youtube videos. Very well done.
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this voile should work nicely.
Looking for a sheer voile in white or ivory with some defined lines, flecs or stripes?
BEST ANSWER: Mussola might be closest to what you're looking for. It has subtle lines. There's also Eroica Homely Stripe if you want not so subtle stripes! We recommend ordering a samples to see if any will work for your project.
I am looking for a fabric that drapes well for a swag at a wedding. And also how much is on a roll ? And is there anything similar but a little cheaper?
BEST ANSWER: This voile would work great for a swag at a wedding. There are other options that may be less expensive per yard, like chiffon, scrim, and tricot, but this is the most economical because it is very wide at 118 inches.
Can you see through this fabric looking in from the outside? Is there one that is a little thicker?
BEST ANSWER: Looking in from the outside, you wouldn't be able to see clearly, but you can still see through this voile somewhat. Batiste and mussola are similar to voile, but less sheer, which may be what you're looking for. We suggest getting samples to see if one would work for you.
i want to order white voile 118 inch wide for drapery on my arch i'm putting lights be hind it, will the light show through? I've also thought about the organza, but like the width of 118 over 56. i need answer fast please so i can order. thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this is a sheer fabric that you will be able to see light through. Assuming you want the lights to shine through, this voile would be an excellent choice! It also has a better drape than organza.

I bought two types of material for arbor draping. I haven’t used the Voile yet. Only the Batist. I liked it! It worked really well for draping. I liked the fact that it was hung overnight and when I took it down it was still clean and ready to use again.
