Why did you choose this?
We’re trying to figure out a way to protect a section of our hall wall and floor molding that our two large Weimaraners keep hitting when they run and slide on the hardwood floor. We were thinking of tacking a piece to the wall, and wanted to cover the floor molding as well. Do you think this gauge will work or should we go higher or lower? Do you have any suggestions on the best methods to attach the vinyl?
BEST ANSWER: Hello, well I can not say for sure but I have both and the only difference between the 16 and 20 gauge is little. If the dogs have sharp claws/nails I would go with the 30 gauge it would last longer I would think. Hope this helps.
Hi, I'm interested in buying 25 yards of vinyl; It is the product in a single roll ?
BEST ANSWER: Generally yes, but you may want to check with our customer service. Contact our customer service at either firstname.lastname@example.org or 877-781-2967 Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm EST.
can this be used for a greenhouse? temperature here does go to freezing occasionally but rarely for extended periods, located in Vancouver, b.c. Canada. would this material actually crack at 0 degrees or ?
BEST ANSWER: This 16 gauge vinyl would work for a greenhouse. It's not likely to actually crack at 0 degrees F unless you try to fold it sharply. It just gets more brittle the colder it gets.
I want to use this on my terrace as a surround to block the wind but need to be clear for my plants, I need it to be 10 running yards and block the winter winds, what gauge is best for me?
BEST ANSWER: I bought 30 guage for a small front door enclosure, with a window enclosure that faces north west. The winds are crazy strong from that direction. This window that I made has lasted going on four years, has not yellowed, nor cracked in our minus 20 - 30 weather in winter. I bought extra in case, but still have it, better to be safe than sorry! I also got 16 guage , but because of the cold crack of -29, I went with the 30 guage.
Can the product be “ welded together ?
BEST ANSWER: I have only sewn through it....and it doesn't seem to melt when ironed. It gets soft but so far I haven't melted it, though I haven't actually tried to.
can i use this in place of glass in a picture frame?
BEST ANSWER: I use this product in a large frame for removable winter storm windows on an outside porch. As far as a replacement for glass in a picture frame I would not do it because I believe it would be difficult to mount it without wrinkles. The plastic is quite clear but no replacement for glass. I'm sure a piece of glass would be considerably easier to work with and more permanent.
Can you get the 16 gage 96 wide?
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately, the widest fabric we have is 54" wide.
Can I use this for my paper Sewing patterns to draw on then reuse?
BEST ANSWER: Absolutely! I have never thought of using clear vinyl for this but that is genius. You could probably get a 10 or 12 gauge vinyl as well, depending on how stiff you want the vinyl to be.
Will 16 gauge work in a aluminum frame with a rubber bead for a porch?

I have a U shaped desk that I am tring to cover so I can protect the paint job on it. The 2 side pieces are 2'W x 4'L and the middle section is 2'W x 12'L. I was wondering what would be the best gauge to get for protection?
BEST ANSWER: That's really up to your own personal preference. We suggest ordering different samples of clear vinyl to see what you feel most comfortable with but a 16 gauge would be fine in our opinion.
I need to cover a wooden attic floor.I need a vinyl strong enough to protect, but not thin so it rips.I will be storing cardboard boxes on the floor, and when I move the heavy boxes. I want the vinyl as a floor protector, strong enough to prevent scratches.
No other foot traffic is in the attic, just storage.

Which clear vinyl would be best for enclosing a screen porch?
BEST ANSWER: 20, 30, or 40 gauge are commonly used for enclosing screen porches. Of these gauges 20 is the lightest and most flexible, while 40 is the heaviest and most stiff. If temperatures get really cold around you, the 30 or 40 can withstand the coldest temperatures of -29 and -30 degrees. The 20 gauge is rated for 0 degree temperatures. We suggest ordering samples to compare and see which would work best for you.
What gauge would you reccommend for a shelf of shoes that I am trying to keep the dust out? I want to cover the front of the shelf like a curtain would.

WHICH GAUGE IS THE CLEAREST?
BEST ANSWER: All gauges are equally clear, but the lower gauges are more pliable so if the vinyl isn't completely flat, the light reflecting off the surface can make it appear more wavy. The higher gauges, like 60, 40, or 30, are stiff and the reflected light will have a more even look. This may make it appear clearer.
