I need to make belt loops for flame retardant pants that has no loops which isused for racing safety person is this suitable? I don't need very much.
BEST ANSWER: Probably, but we can't be sure for this specific use.
can it be used for privacy curtains at night with lights on?
BEST ANSWER: It could, but we recommend using blackout fabric specifically designed for drapery:
Is this material similar to the material refinery suits are made of? Or dickies brand pants?
BEST ANSWER: This material has a soft napped surface that feels a little fuzzy. It has a twill backing and is 100% cotton. We recommend this material for a sports coat but it may be too heavy for pants. It's similar to Dickies brand pants but slightly different in fiber content. We suggest ordering a sample to see if it will work for your project.
use for bird cage cover?
BEST ANSWER: Yes if you are looking for a "total black out material". Easy to sew / quality / however, not machine washable so if this is an issue, keep it in mind.
Can this be sewn using a regular sewing machine?
BEST ANSWER: Yes however it will be heavy to deal with so you will at the minimum need to be in a large work area or a table strong enough to take machine and weight of material. If a very large project, I highly recommend a "sturdy - more industrial type machine like Janome or Juki.
Will this work for Potholders?
BEST ANSWER: I don't think so. It is kinda felt like.
How thick is this material?
BEST ANSWER: It has a good hand. We recommend ordering a sample to be sure that it will work for your project.
This is priced by yard... is this a square yard? Or what are the actual dimensions?
BEST ANSWER: All our fabric is sold by the linear yard. This item would be 54" x 36" / yd.
I give it 5 stars. However, it is not for everything and anything. It is an industrial type material used for "black out" and durability. Large curtain area, full coverage of window, preventing light to come through.
