Why did you choose this?
can i use it to store flour or sugar ?
BEST ANSWER: The weave is too open for those types of things, flour or sugar would fall out.
Are these sacks good for sack races?
BEST ANSWER: We usually recommend the 24" x 40" or 27" x 40" burlap bags unless the racers will all be children.
can this bag be used as a sand bag?
BEST ANSWER: We do not recommend this burlap bag because the weave is too open. We suggest the 16" x 24" burlap sand bag.
Can I use these bags to plant vegetables in or are they toxic? I notice that they are hydrocarbon free.
I want to cover my little arborvitae trees so the deer wont eat them during the winter, will they work for that?
BEST ANSWER: I guess it would depend on how big your arborvitae are. I use them to absorb moisture under the outer covers of my beehives and they work perfectly for that. They provide plenty of ventilation, but still absorb the moisture. I’m thinking you would be better off ordering burlap by the yard and stapling it to stakes around the tree.
trying to get clear on sizes of the bags. Would a bag 24 x 40 hold a piece of plywood 22 x 38 ?
or would it hold half that size - 11 x 38 ?
BEST ANSWER: I love this oddly specific plywood size, but I get what you are asking! And yes, these are quite large bags. Once washed, they shrink considerably and I can’t promise your plywood will fit easily, but the dimension of the bag is accurate as provided.
Is this good for gardening for peppers, and tomatoes?
BEST ANSWER: Yes, many people use this bag for that.
I bought these to use in moving some small trees bushes for transplanting. They were moved to a property more than two days drive away and with minimal soils around the root ball the bags kept them moist but not dripping and the plants did well. I have some left and I am thinking of other projects to use them for. Thay are very sturdy and well made.
