I use it to turn my covered patio into a greenhouse for cold months. It is thick enough and clear so I can see through it.
JOAN B on Sep 12, 2017
I am restoring the single hung windows on a historical house and
will be building new interior storms using wood frames and this heavy vinyl.
I've used the vinyl on another project and it's perfect. The product
has less heat loss that the 1/16" clear glass found in older storms.
The slight distortion even gives the impression of traditional spun glass.

Can 20 or 30 gauge be held in place by screen spline in a screen frame?

BEST ANSWER: It would depend on the particular spline and frame, but in general, I would say yes (especially the 20 gauge). We suggest ordering samples to see which gauge would work for you.
I this type of material rigid enough to use in large picture frames? Or is it so malleable creases may appear?
A shopper on Jan 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, it is flexible, not meant for any sort of rigid use . You would need a thin sheet of plexiglass (if you'd rather not use real glass) for a large picture frame. I suppose you could try stretching it onto an inner frame like you would stretch a canvas to paint on, but even then, I doubt it would look good.
can I use this 20g to cover an heirloom persian rug to prevent dog accidents?

I am using the 20 gauge for a school dining room table over a table cloth will this be enough protection?
A shopper on Jun 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The 20 gauge would offer good protection. It's a medium thickness and might not drape over the sides of the table as well as thinner gauges. If you want it to drape well, we'd suggest the 8 or 10 gauge. These are still waterproof and durable. We recommend ordering some samples to see what will work for your project.

I'm looking for something clear to protect the arm rest on my leather couch and chairs. I need it think enough so that my cats back claws won't go thru it. I want it clear so the beautiful leather shows thru it. I am confused on the levels of thickness you offer. Can you give me the thickness of each gauge please?
Thanks you!
A shopper on Feb 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If you put 0.0 in front of the gauge, you'll get the thickness. So 20 gauge is 0.02 inches, 30 gauge is 0.03 inches, etc. This might not be incredibly helpful in picturing the thickness, so we recommend ordering samples to be able to see the thickness. This 20 gauge is a good starting point. People have used this gauge to protect furniture from pets.
Which of these would you suggest as a table top protector for cherry wood dinning room table?
A shopper on Feb 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: 6, 8, or 10 gauge clear vinyl will work well for a table top protector if you need a bit or drape along the edges. If you just want to cover the top without a drape, 20 gauge would also work. We offer samples on all of these products so you can see for yourself which will work best.

What a great product! We had purchased an oversized poster and built a custom frame for it. We were not able to find glass or plex to protect it. The fabric was just the trick, it looks great and I will be ordering more for other photos / posters. Our friends love it too, so we are happily referring them to you.. Thank you so much!
