Why did you choose this?
Can anyone please advise...What hooks do you use to hang this? Is there a hook that will go through the rings I have already purchased which have a large ring that threads along the rod and then a much smaller lighter ring attached to the big circle through which you hook on the hooks, as it were? Thanks in advance.
BEST ANSWER: We carry several hooks of different lengths for this purpose. There are little channels in the shirring tape where you can insert the hooks. These will work perfectly with the type of rings that you have.
The length you choose depends on how high or low you want the drapery header to be compared to the rings. The longer the hook the higher the header will be. You can also control this by which slots you put the hooks in on the shirring tape (there's 3 heights). The 1 or 1 1/2 inch hooks would likely be best for you.
Can you use this on sheers with rings wth clips?
BEST ANSWER: I used it on swiss clip dot batiste. I folded over the top of the fabric the width of the tape, sewing the tape on the back of the doubled fabric. It looks great. I put the slip in hooks that hang on the rings, that go on the pretty rod with finials. I have tie backs, also. I think it looks professional. You wouldn't know I made them. Most of my friends thought the same thing.
how much fabric does it take to make a pleat?
BEST ANSWER: Approximately 1.5 inches.
will this tape work for making a king size dust ruffle with 18" drop....Is it sturdy enough?
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I think it will work very well. What a good idea!
Can the 4" best pleater tape be used for a 3 1/2" header on pre made sheers?
BEST ANSWER: Yes it can but you would have to place the hooks to the 3 1/2 header marker for the the curtains to hang properly.
Is this similar to the Clip N Wave tape I just saw on line ?(but this is more reasonable in price)
BEST ANSWER: This creates much smaller, tighter pleats.
Can this tape be used to make Parisian style pinch pleats?
Does this tape automatically form the pleats as well as the space in between the pleats?
BEST ANSWER: Yes, by pulling on the strings, the tape creates uniform pleats. You can control exactly how tight together the pleats are.
I have 3" shirring tape on my drapes and a traverse rod. I inserted the 3" short neck with 4 prong hooks to create pinch pleats. I am able to see the metal prongs sticking up on the top below the ring. I inserted the hook on the lowest insert and the prongs still show on the top. Is there something shorter than the 3" hooks that will create pinch pleats? I cannot find them anywhere. Thank you
