Why did you choose this?
Want to use this as a dresser top and wood shelf protector (from kids toys etc). Any issues with moisture forming between the vinyl and finish of furniture that would damage the furniture?
BEST ANSWER: That is what we used it for and no problems to date.
What is the thickest gauge? And is it sturdy or floppy plastic sheets
BEST ANSWER: This 60 gauge clear vinyl is the thickest gauge. It is quite sturdy. We recommend ordering a sample to see if it will work for you.
I want to use this on my table. Is it slick? I will cut it to the shape of the table. Will it slide around?
BEST ANSWER: It depends on what the table is made out of. It sticks to glass well, but it would most likely slide around on other surfaces. You can always order a sample to get a better idea if it would work for you.
Hello can you use this item as a temporary convertible plastic back window?

? In Va in the Winter time I make my back porch into a green house with heaters the 40 gauge and 60 gauge which one will keep the cold out and heat in
BEST ANSWER: Either one would work. The 40 gauge has a lower cold crack temperature, but the temperature shouldn't be an issue for the way you're using it. The 60 would be a little better at insulating, just because it's thicker.
would a poodle be able claw through this if I used it as a door protector?
BEST ANSWER: It's pretty thick so it should hold up well, even to sharp claws! If you want to see how thick it is, you can also order a sample.
what gauge for a doggie door?
BEST ANSWER: It really depends on personal preference. The thicker the gauge the better for a doggy door, we recommend ordering a few different samples to see the thicknesses for yourself.
Can I put grommets in this like a shower curtain? Or can I glue this back to itself(like making a hem) so I can slide it onto a curtain rod?
BEST ANSWER: I think it would be hard to put grommets on it as it’s pretty thick. You probably won’t be able to flexibly use it as a shower curtain either even if you can grommet or glue it. The quality is amazing though - heavy and durable but it’s also the reason why I don’t think 60 gauge is suitable for a shower.
I’ve been using it on my dining table for more than a year and it still looks as if it’s brand new.
WHICH GAUGE CAN BE USED FOR OVERLAPPING DOGHOUSE DOOR?
BEST ANSWER: I used this 60 gauge vinyl for overlapping doors for a calf hutch (2 ft x 3 ft opening) and also a pig barn opening (5 ft high x 6 ft wide). I cut the sheet into strips of about 8 inch widths and then overlapped each strip halfway with the previous strip and halfway with the following strip to get 100% overlap which gives a double layer. I sandwiched the top ends of the vertical vinyl overlapping strips between two boards to suspend it and then put a screw through the wood for each strip. Because of the length of each strip in the pig barn, they can blow open in very strong winds but under most weather conditions they are perfect. They worked well on the calf hutch. The material is very thick but easily cuts with a utility knife/razor blade. They resist the weather pretty well but i’ve replaced a few strips due to tearing after several years of rough usage. I think they would be great for dog house doors and other uses.
Which gauge size is reccomended to protect a wooden kitchen table?
BEST ANSWER: If it's not meant to drape over the sides like a tablecloth, 40 or 60 gauge works weill.
Will this product emit chemical odor into air? I need to cover carpeting around portable floor ac in bedroom.
BEST ANSWER: I have never noticed any odor at all. This is a good product.
I want to roll this into a tube about 8" wide x 3-4 feet long. Is it thick enough to stand up by itself?
BEST ANSWER: Yes it is, especially is you roll it.
Will 60 ga clear vinyl work to insert over screen on porch for winter?
BEST ANSWER: I believe it would, but also I think it depends on your geographic location. In the southern most areas, there is little to no possibility of freezing weather. In the northern climates, I am not sure if the cold would effect the pliability of this product. I do highly recommend this product .
Could be used as a protective covering for a overlarge watercolor painting? The painting is 14 feet long. I need something as clear and strong as plexiglas but easier storage.
BEST ANSWER: I believe so. It's flexible, it won't rip, but it can be cut with strong scissors. I'm using it as a table cover so I won't damage my table while doing any projects. I'd say I'd recommend it.

How much can I bend the 60 Gauge Vinyl? I am trying to make holes covers for a Skee-Ball Game this would work perfectly because it can bend so easily. Will this thick bend in 2" rings or even smaller? What is the elasticity of the iterm? Thank you for whoever can help.
BEST ANSWER: There is no elasticity for this item. Since your use is a bit uncommon, we suggest ordering several samples in different gauges, that way you can determine which gauge is the best thickness. If it were up to me, I think that 60 Gauge would be too stiff.

I am trying to make a halloween costume for my son and need to make a windshield that will stand on its own without falling over on itself. will the 40 or 60 gauge be thick and sturdy enough to stand upright and keep its form while still being able to bend to form a slight curve?
BEST ANSWER: The larger the piece the more difficult it will be to stand on it's own so we aren't sure that gauge will make a difference. We recommend ordering samples to compare the two.
Can this be used on concrete basement floors as a means to prevent chairs from scratching the paint off the concrete?

really great product in terms of durability and clarity. the only issue I had was getting it to lay flat; it comes shipped in a roll, and it is very difficult to keep the edges from curling. I had to sandwich the piece I used (2' X 3') in between waxed solid steel plates and heat it up, and even after letting it sit for a few days under 100 lbs, it still wants to curl up at the edges.
