Why did you choose this?
Is this item compressed or crushed neoprene or regular? Looking for maximum buoyancy so not compressed or crushed. Thank you.
BEST ANSWER: We recommend ordering a sample to be sure that it will work for your project.
Can this 6mm be sewn into a sweat vest?
BEST ANSWER: Sewing this material requires a specialized machine. Household sewing machine not good.
I was trying to make a 5x wetsuit for someone. Do you have 4mm or is 3mm sufice?
BEST ANSWER: This is a 6 mm neoprene. We offer a 3 mm and 3 mm version, but not 4 mm. It depends on how big of a deal 1 mm is to your project. We recommend ordering a sample to be sure that it will work for your project.
I was thinking about making a large cover to protect 2 large heavy paintings on wood that are about 45" by 15" each. Do you think I'd be best served by a 6mm or 3mm. How many rolls would I need? Can a regular sewing machine be used to sew this material?
BEST ANSWER: We haven't seen neoprene being used this way, but I don't see why not. We would suggest putting a layer of archival paper between the painting and neoprene. The 3mm would probably be fine and you would just need one sheet. It can be sewn on a regular sewing machine.
It was just what I was looking for. I cut it up as a pad to use under my embroidery machine to absorb vibrations and make it run smoother. It is Perfect. I had enough for several machines. Thanks so much.
