I am thinking about covering my old seat cushions on my kitchen chairs with these! I realize these are made of jute, so I am wondering if they would be too scratchy for seat covers? Has anyone found these to be too uncomfortable for seating?
A shopper on Nov 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I was going to make cushions for an old rocker and tested the black by rubbing a white cloth over it. It did bleed some so I ended up making just a throw pillow but washed the fabric by hand first to remove the excess dye. The black faded some but that was okay because it made it look more like an old feed sack. I don't think the fabric is too scratchy. I would be more concerned with the dye transferring to clothes.
Is image on 2 sides? Dimensions of image?
A shopper on Aug 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It's printed on one side and the image is about 16 inches wide and 18 inches tall.
Do these feed sacks have drawstring closures at the top end?
A shopper on Nov 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No they do not have a drawstring
Great product! I have used them for ottomans and chair backs!
Can this be used to cover dining room chairs?
A shopper on Nov 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes I don't see why not. It is very large and made very well!! We bought it to cover our eye sore of a water softener in our kitchen. Looks great
Is this sturdy enough for a tote bag?
A shopper on Oct 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We don't see why not. However, the fibers of the burlap may be a bit annoying for use as a tote bag.
Can I pasteurize straw in this submerged in water at 175 degrees water on a regular basis?
A shopper on Aug 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Since burlap degrades relatively quickly when wet, we would not recommend it.
I want to use these as sacks for old fashion sack races. Will they work?

I love my cattle feed bags! I used them for curtains in my little farm house kitchen. They were a little stiff when I received them, but I washed them a few times to soften the material. They turned out super cute~
