A shopper on Sep 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This is currently the smallest roll we carry.
Any chemicals in this cotton?
A shopper on Jan 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: There are no chemicals in this cotton batting.
Will one bundle be enough to fill a 21" x 11" leather ottoman/pouf? I want it to be full and firm after stuffing.
A shopper on Mar 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure of the firmness you are looking for, however; the quantity of the box should fill the size ottoman you have described. I use this batting for upholstery and have been very pleased with its performance.
My couch pillows are flat and I would like to fatten up the existing batting that is in them. Is this the right material to use? There is only batting in them now, no foam.
A shopper on Dec 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You could use this. But if all you're using is batting, I think over time it will compress and become less "fluffy." I use this as a layer over foam on cushions, seats, seat backs, and arm rests.
How many bundles will I need to cover an 84 1/2 x 18 x 2 piece of foam enough to end up at 4" total?
Marion M on Mar 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: one bundle should do it. I make wider futons than that and about same length with no foam and use two bundles. Deborah
I would like to make a large futon mattress....would this cotton padding work for that?
A shopper on Dec 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You would need something with more structure like a sheet of high density upholstery foam or a foam mattress pad or thinner foam mattress in the appropriate mattress size, but this would be great for wrapping the foam as would the Dacron Cushion Wrap previously suggested or some polyester quilt batting.

My niece is having a baby and has hard wood floors. She wants me to make her a "quilt" to put on the floor to lay the baby on that is super soft and padded to lay the baby on. Would this work as the batting in the quilt? How would this stand up to being washed?
A shopper on Jun 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We suggest Quilters Dream cotton or wool batting. The wool is the thickest and the supreme is the thicker of the cottons. If you need more thickness, they can be doubled up. They all wash well.

Hi ! I want to make a quilted full size comforter . Is one bundle enough ? Also , is this clean and ready to use for filling comforters?
Where this Cotten is coming from? Thanks!!
A shopper on Mar 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is loose cotton batting used for upholstering furniture. If it were in a quilt, it would not hold together. There is natural cotton batting for quilts that is better suited for your purposes.
I would like to fatten up the existing batting in my couch cushions. Which would be best to use, cotton or polyester? There is no foam in the cushions, only batting.
christina b on Dec 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I prefer polyester batting for that purpose. It holds its shape better and is more sturdy. I love this cotton, but I use it in upholstery in areas where it will be held tightly in place by fabric. If it's used somewhere that it's able to move around a lot, it will tear and bunch up. Being a natural product, this can leave the surface uneven as it is more dense in some areas than others and contains the occasional cotton seed. The polyester batting can be used to contain the original loose stuffing and will provide the cushions with shape and stability and will smooth the surface. I actually prefer to use a polyester quilt batting (like the Mountain Mist Buffalo Batt Light referenced below) when there's no foam because it has more structure that the Dacron Cushion Wrap, but either is fine.

I am padding a dress form and I need the kind of batting that will stick to itself as it is applied. This should hold until I put the muslim cover over the batting--will this type batting work?

I am redoing antique custom box springs that were made for 4 poster beds ...the corners are cut out to fit around the posts. The original box springs had a burlap layer over the springs and then a thick...approx 2 inch.... layer of what appeared to be cotton batting over the burlap. Would this batting be good to use in this case?
A shopper on Oct 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it sounds like this would work for you.

I am building a new couch using a new oak frame and the springs from the original 60 year old unit. the springs are in fine shape, but I want to replace the batting and burlap and use new fabric to cover it. what batting would you recommend?
A shopper on Sep 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Cotton upholstery batting is often used for antique furniture that gets occasional use. We suggest using Dacron padding for items that get lots of use.

Is one bundle enough for a chair reupholstery?
A shopper on Jun 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. In the Details section you will see that one bundle is 12 yards long and 13 lbs.
Do you carry this wider I need 33 inch wide?
A shopper on Jun 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is the widest we offer in this specific type of batting.
I have two leather power recliners that are about 12 years old. The padding in the seats is so flattened, you can feel the frame with your bottom. The backrests are no longer firm, so my back curves right into them. I have spinal issues now and can no longer sit on these recliners without causing my back to spasm. Would this product be the best choice to firm up these recliners? New power leather recliners with lumbar support are ridiculously expensive at $1500 a piece!
A shopper on May 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This batting would add cushion, but for better support, we recommend using this on top of a piece of foam if possible. You can find upholstery foam here:
I am looking for batting to go over new foam cushions for my antique sofa . I feel this product will work better than quilt batting but not sure. My concern is that your cotton batting may not stay in place in my cushion and might bunch up. I also like to know what type of fabrics that I would use to cover the spring on a wooden frame that will have upholstery fabric in the front and will attach to fabric that will not be seen but will cover the burlap and batting the is covering the springs. This frame than sits on the wooden sofa frame. What are your recommendations?fThank you sherry
A shopper on May 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This cotton batting will work well. The other option is Cushion Dacron Wrap. Either way, you can use spray adhesive to secure the batting to the foam. As for the fabric, I think you may be looking for upholstery deck cover.

How many blanketstops can be made with one roll.?
A shopper on Apr 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This product is not meant for blankets, it's meant for upholstery.
I'm new to upholstery. Doing a seat cushion. At my local Jo-Anne's I bought soft & bright needled polyester batting, its pretty thin. I chose needled polyester so it wouldn't pull through but now I'm afraid since it is geared towards quilting that it WILL pull through and will also bunch up beneath the fabric. Did I choose wrong? Any pointers for choosing an acceptable, affordable upholstery batting?
A shopper on Apr 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This batting is meant to be used on things like arm rests where padding is required but foam may be too thick for, or for reupholstering antique pieces to keep the original look. You may want to consider deck padding as as alternative to the batting you purchased, it isn't as loose as the quilting batting and will still offer softness. You probably don't want to use the batting by itself because it won't really offer any cushion on it's own. You'd need foam underneath it. Check out this tutorial for an example of how Clara upholstered a seat cushion using the deck padding:
1/4" White Dacron Upholstery Deck Padding
1/2" White Dacron Upholstery Deck Padding
How high will this be after compression?
A shopper on Apr 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This item is not compressed when shipped, so it should retain it's thickness of about 2".
Can this be used for car seat padding?
A shopper on Mar 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We don't see why not, even though this is used primarily in traditional furniture upholstery.
Need this for filling sewn chair cushion for back rest on couch is this the right material for that purpose?
A shopper on Nov 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi! If I'm understanding you correctly, you want to place this on the backrest of a chair? This material is great for filling over an existing foam base. So if you have nothing on the back and are using this solely for filling, depending upon what kind of chair it is, this may not be enough on it's own. If you could tell me more about your project, I would love to help you out.
I have a vintage living room set I want to make muslin slipcovers for for all the cushions, but the original filler is thin and I want to fluff up the pillows. What batting/filler would you suggest?
A shopper on Nov 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This cotton upholstery batting would be a good choice. You can layer it to make it as thick as you want.
