Why did you choose this?
How thick is this cushion dacron wrap?--other dacron is marked 1/4 or 1/2"
BEST ANSWER: 1/2 inch and I like it more than expected.
How do u sew it in the shape of the pillow or is this necessary?
BEST ANSWER: I used Dacron wrap to cover and soften the very flat, heavy foam cushions I replaced on a rattan/bamboo chair. The Dacron was secured with spray adhesive on the cushion. (Purchased from Online Fabric store.) The Dacron also covered the side walls of the cushion by folding the excess width down over the side. Then the 'puffy' cushions got new slipcovers. The Dacron wrap gives a softer, feather or poly fiberfill appearance, like down cushions. It also depends on how many layers of Dacron wrap you use. My customer just 2 weeks ago told me they love the makeover. No sewing is involved with Dacron wrap, unless you need some big, hand-basting stitches to tack raw edges together. I hope this helps.
Is Dacron the only thing they wrap foam cushions with or do they use 100% cotton also this is the first time I have ever made cushions ?
BEST ANSWER: You can use this or cotton upholstery batting. Either works well.
How thick, need 2in?
BEST ANSWER: Maybe 1/4-1/3" thick at most. This is used to wrap around a pad. It has a sheer outer liner tacked to a thin sheet of poly. (This way the 2 pieces stay together until stapled in place. Then remove the tack stitching to have a smooth top.) Great product! Used to recover dining room chair seats with 1" foam base.
Do you also need to cover the wrap with fabric, e.g. muslin, or will it slip easily into the outer cover with just the wrap?
BEST ANSWER: No- you finished cushion should have enough give to fit over the wrap- I usually wrap my cushions then put on finished cover- However it is best not to wrap the end with the zipper- makes for smoother fit on the couch/chair- so in essence you are wrapping three sides-
Hope this helps
My cushions look tired. The existing cushions already have a layer of dacron wrap over the foam. Can I glue a new layer of dacron wrap over the existing dacron wrap so that it won't shift and bunch up? The result would create a better filled slipcover.
BEST ANSWER: I don't see how that would hurt anything
I am reupholstering outdoor cushions made of, what I believe is Dacron. I planned to use hot glue to secure the canvas to the cushions. Will that work?
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure about hot glue. I usually just wrap it around the cushion and do a rough hand sew. There is also a spray adhesive that you could use. It comes in a spray can.
How wide is the Dacron wrap?
BEST ANSWER: Salvage to salvage is 35 inches, polyester batting is 27 inches wide.
Do you have a very light/thin polyesterfabric which I can use only to cover my pillows?
can i use with the evi-dri foam for outdoor use?
BEST ANSWER: You can use this with any foam. I think the question you are asking is more if this is for outdoor use? If you are covering the cushions themselves in an outdoor, waterproof fabric, that is their protection. I only use evi-dri foam for jobs where the cushions are not covered with fabric that completely repels water. So the need for the water that flows in can go through and out is there.
I have 6 chairs that the seat is 18x18. how much dacron wrap will I need?
Does foam edge need to shaped before using the Dacron cushion wrap?
Can you use on outdoor cushions that are filled with batting?

Reupholstered bench seat
I was very happy how this bench turned out. It was my first attempt at reupholstering. After going on Utube and seeing all the various ways to cover seats, I felt your product was the best solution. I like how it filled it out & made it appear very professional looking. Your product will also help the outer fabric last longer & if it stretches at all, the wrap will help fill in those gaps. I love the end result. Thank you!

Works well to soften foam forms. Used it also as quilt batting for a cat bed, which the cat loves.
