BEST ANSWER: This is a lightweight elastic, it may not be durable enough. A woven elastic would be better.

Can this be used for swimwear straps (bikini)? I bought a bikini with clear straps but tying it tight enough is nearly impossible as it sticks to itself and just continues to stretch if pulled. Once I managed to get it tied, it came undone the moment I bent over. Thanking my stars I tested it at home first!

Can I sew this to a chair cover to keep it in place? So it won't slip down from the top of the chair? Will it stay attached to the fabric if sewed to it and stretched?

BEST ANSWER: Yes you can use this elastic. It should not slide down with the weight of the cover and stretch of the fabric if it is tied tight enough to the chair.
