Could it be laid directly on top of car to protect finish from morning summer sun ?
BEST ANSWER: I’m not sure, I used it to make a pleated shade for the front windows of a motor home. They were hung inside, in place of the old drapery. Excellent insulation!
Would this prevent make-up from overheating/melting (lip stick/mascara) if left in a hot car if used as a lining for a make-up bag? Because a waterproof ripstop nylon lining would be cheaper.

does This insulate from sun heating up van?
BEST ANSWER: I used it in the front window of a motor home and it insulated really well. It is very stiff

can this be used for apparel?
BEST ANSWER: This isn't typically used for apparel but there's no reason why you wouldn't be able to use it for that if you were so inclined. We recommend ordering a sample to be sure that it will work for your project.
