Why did you choose this?
Can I make an evening gown out of this and if I can is there anything specific I need to know?
BEST ANSWER: I bought this in brown for a coverlet. It sews nicely, drapes well, and doesn't wrinkle easily. That said, it collects lint and dust like crazy, but doesn't that apply to all velvet? The back of it might not feel that nice on the skin over a period of time without a separate lining or slip...it doesn't feel satiny.
I would like to use this fabric for a Native American regalia men's beaded vest. Is it durable or is it stretchy?
BEST ANSWER: It is not stretchy and is a very good quality.
I'm looking to make a home thearter velvet drapes. Can you recommend a velvet and can I purchase color swatches in this catagory?
BEST ANSWER: Any Fairvel velvets or crushed velvets would be great, samples are available for both types.
How much fabric would be needed to cover a 72" sofa?
Csn this be used to reupholster a tufted curved back chair?
Is this fabric known not to be great fabric to upholster with?
BEST ANSWER: This particular velvet is mostly used in apparel applications, we would not recommend using it for upholstery. We do have some great options that would work well like the JB Martin Como Velvet or the Bella Velvet.
Is this good for upholstery?
BEST ANSWER: Fairvel velvet is mostly used for apparel and drapery. The following velvets in a similar color to this one would be more appropriate for upholstery.
Is this a good option for 20' long pinch pleat drapes?
BEST ANSWER: I don't use for drapes, but it is a high quality fabric that would look really great as a drape.
