Adjusting buttons on a button down shirt

Use a seam ripper to undo the thread and remove the buttons.

Be careful not to cut into the shirt fabric.

You may want to use a pin to hold the button in place while sewing.

Move the button closer to the edge of the shirt and re-sew it. The threads should cross at the top of the button.

Sew the button a little loose so it will fit through the buttonhole afterwards.

Double knot on the back side and snip the extra thread.

Repeat these steps for any buttons you want to adjust.
