This keychain, also known as a key fob, makes a great handmade gift. The hook makes it easy to add or remove key rings or you can attach it to a bag. You can adjust the measurements to make it the length you prefer. Make it longer if you want to be able to wrap it around your wrist easily, or make it shorter if you want a smaller key chain that’s easy to find in your bag.

Fold one of the larger pieces of fabric in half lengthwise with right sides facing. With a ½” seam allowance, sew down the long edge. Repeat for the other pieces, but use a ¼” seam allowance for the small piece.
Place the interfacing on the back of one of the long pieces. If you’re using a fusible interfacing, iron to attach it. The interfacing will make the fabric stiffer so it will hold its shape better.
Pin the long pieces together with the seam and interfacing sides on the inside.
Position the seam so it is about 1” up from the bottom when the loop is flattened.
Take the small piece of fabric and wrap it over the seam, around the back, and tuck in the ends at the side.
Sew forwards then backwards along the edges of the band. And that’s it! Just snap on your key ring and keys and you’re good to go.
