I chose this a covering for acoustic treatment panels. The natural color is fine, although I considered other colors and printed options. In the end, it's a utilitarian application so I went with the least expensive option. I know it will look great.

long ago and far away people without great resources made clothes out of the burlap sacks that flour and potatoes came in - to show a living history encampment the way things were I intend to do something similar - not everyone had the money or the nearby stores to make things out of the best materials

I ordered 50 yards of natural burlap, 40" wide. I'm using burlap to tack to older ceiling tile I've painted dark brown. I'm also using old used burlap feed bags so my room will look like an old barn, the under side of a hay loft. Also going to be hanging mason jar pendant lights. Can't wait to receive the fabric! I chose free shipping, 5-7 days.
Kathleen B on Oct 31, 2016
I have been buying this exact burlap from this supplier for years. It is the best bang for your buck. Love the free shipping. I use this burlap to make wreaths.

I am planning on using this to help speed up the process of growing grass from seedlings. Burlap is excellent for keeping moisture in the soil and shading the ground to help seeds to germinate. Also keeps birds from eating your expensive seed!

Is weave density the difference in 5, 10, and 11 oz burlap? What has the tightest weave?
A shopper on Sep 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the heavier the burlap, the tighter the weave.
For use in curtain panels, which weight/weave would you suggest to block more light?
A shopper on Oct 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: We recommend Sultana Burlap for this purpose. It has the tightest weave and is also more refined than this natural burlap. It has a consistent look and feel and is sanitized to remove oils and reduce the odor.
How many yards would I need 2 make table cloth for a rectangular table sits 12 people?
A shopper on Sep 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I usually use 54-60 inch fabric for tablecloths, this will provide a good side drop for each side. Measure your table lengthwise and widthwise in inches. Using the width of your chosen fabric, determine how far the fabric will fall on the sides when centered on the table. This total fall for both sides, plus the measured length of the fully extended table, plus end seam allowances, will give you the amount of length required for your tablecloth fabric. Your measurements, totalled for length, divided by 36 inches will provide the necessary yardage. Be sure to either precondition your fabric before measuring, or allow extra in case of shrinkage, a few extra length in inches will not be significant if there is no shrinkage.
How much burlap do I need to make a floor length tablecloth for a round table that is 3ft across and 28" tall?
A shopper on Dec 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: With this 40 inch wide burlap, you would need to seam together 3 pieces to have enough for the width. In this case, you would need 8 yards. But if you get this burlap in the 60 inch width, you would just need 6 yards because you would only need two pieces to make it wide enough.

It looks best if the seam isn't running down the middle, so you could have one 60 inch piece in the center, cut the other piece in half and sew them on either side of the larger piece.

I would like to wrap the base of an artificial tree and secure with twine. How many yards would it take?
A shopper on Feb 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We can't say for sure without seeing the size of the artificial tree, but 2 yards should be enough.
I want to make curtains with burlap that is open weave enough to be able to look through from inside...but somewhat block those who are walking by outside on the sidewalk. Do you have a good weight for this project and do you have a "muddy" sort of red? Also how wide would that product be and cost per yard.? thank you.
Julie L on Jan 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: 5 oz burlap has an open weave like you are looking for, but it only comes in its natural color. Our color burlaps have a tighter weave, so you may not be able to see through as much as you would like. We don't have a muddy red color. Another option is to dye the 5 oz burlap with red rit dye. If you click on the images below, you can find the info on width and pricing. You can also order samples to see the weave and color of each.

Which is the best burlap for outdoor use; particularly for blinds on hunting stands which will be exposed to weather all year(s).?
A shopper on Jan 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We recommend treated burlap. It has a no-rot treatment to extend the life of the burlap while still remaining biodegradable.

Yvan this burlap be used for stenciling for picture ?
A shopper on Jan 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I use it for stenciling letters and silhouettes. Works well. Make sure your stencil is really secure. I use freezer paper. I wouldn't do any really intricate design.
I am looking for burlap without any chemicals added. Is this product free of them?
A shopper on Jan 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This burlap is hydrocarbon free which means it was made with vegetable oil instead of petroleum-based mineral oil. It won't have the kerosene-like odor that other burlap can have. (Though jute still has an odor of its own!)
How many yards do I need for 36" square table?
A shopper on Dec 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It depends on how much you want it to hang over on the sides. If you get this burlap in the 60 inch width, you wouldn't need to seam pieces together and you would get a drop (amount it hangs over) of about a foot. If you sew two pieces of the 40 inch width together, you would get a maximum drop of about 20 inches. This option would require 5 yards of the 40 inch. To have it go to the floor, which is generally 30 inches, you would need 6 yards of the 60 inch burlap.

What's the heaviest wt this comes in?
A shopper on Oct 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This 10 oz is usually considered the heaviest. However, we do carry a 17.2 oz sagless burlap which is mostly intended for use in upholstery. We recommend ordering samples to be sure which fabric is the best for your project.
36" Sagless Burlap Fabric
What is the care instructions for this fabric ?
A shopper on Oct 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Burlap should be hand washed with cold water and a small amount of gentle detergent. Do not leave in water to soak. Rinse the fabric well and leave it to dry flat between two towels.
For stains, blot the burlap (do not scrub or rub) with a wet sponge, blot up the water with a towel immediately after.
Using to make vintage burlap and lace shower curtain how much would I need?
A shopper on Sep 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: A standard shower curtain is 72 inches wide and 70 inches tall. If this is the size you want, you'd need a total of 5 yards. This would need to be cut into two 2.5 yard pieces and sewn together to get the right size.
