BEST ANSWER: This is not an organic fabric, so chemicals may have been used in the manufacturing process. You may be able to remove these chemicals by washing with an organic laundry detergent.

Is this suitable for reupholstering?
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: The Irish linen is fairly lightweight at 6.7 oz per yard and could be used for upholstery that isn't highly used. The 8.5 oz European Linen or 11 oz Belgian Linen (also comes in 14.7 oz) would be more appropriate for medium to heavily used upholstery. We suggest ordering samples if you want to compare weights and see which is the best for you.
11 Oz Oatmeal Belgian Linen Fabric
14.7 Oz Oatmeal Belgian Linen Fabric
8.5 Oz Oatmeal European Linen Fabric
