Why did you choose this?
Can this be used for patio chairs?
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this fabric is perfect for sling patio chairs, but it may be too stiff for making cushion covers. If you want to make cushion covers, we recommend ordering a sample first to see if it will work for you.
Can I sew this fabric on my standard home sewing machine and what kind of thread would I use ?
Would this make good plastic placemats?
I noticed under the description different fabrics list different dimensions for "construction" . What is meant by "construction"?
BEST ANSWER: Construction is like thread count. It's how many strands per square inch. So Phifertex fabrics with lower numbers have a more open weave and higher numbers indicate a tighter weave.
WHAT CAN I USE FOR BINDING/FINISHING RAW CURVED CUT EDGES?
BEST ANSWER: You could cut a strip and fold it in half and use it like a bias tape as this fabric doesn't ravel. I just folded the raw edge and sewed it like a hem. Good luck!
Width and length of one yd?
BEST ANSWER: It's 54 inches wide and a yard is 36 inches.
Will this fabric allow water to pass through? I would use this for a canoe seat, and I don't want water to pool. I prefer the open-weave Phifertex Standard Solids, which would easily drain water, but that fabric isn't recommended for 'sling chair' applications.
BEST ANSWER: Water may still pool a bit, we recommend ordering a sample to be sure that it will work for your project.
Can this fabric be used for a water sling chair?
BEST ANSWER: We believe it can, but we're not sure how well it will hold up to chlorine over time if you're using it in a chlorine pool.
What is the suggested weight rating when used on a sling chair made of 2 inch PVC? the old fabric measured 16 inches wide by 50 inches long. Also would one yard be enough to do 2 chairs?
BEST ANSWER: Phifertex doesn't provide this information, but it is designed for this purpose. The chair frame would probably be more likely to break than the fabric! 1 yard may be just enough for 2 chairs, depending on how much extra you need on the edges.
what is the size of this material ?
BEST ANSWER: 54" wide, and a very tight weave. Nice, heavy vinyl coated fabric.
Good for sling chair application?
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it's perfect for sling chairs.
I'm considering this material as a durable outdoor wall panel on patio, will this material allow some light and outdoor viewing?
BEST ANSWER: The weave might be too closed to allow a lot of light through or for outdoor viewing. We suggest ordering a sample to see if it will work for your project.
Is this good to use for a 3person hanging swing?
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this would be suitable for that.
How many yards would you need for 1 standard sling chair?
BEST ANSWER: You would need anywhere from 1-3 yards depending on how large the chair is.
