- Care: Prepare cleaning solution using 1 tbsp. liquid dish detergent and 2 tbsp. household bleach mixed in a gallon of water. Clean fabric using sponge or soft cloth dipped in solution. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and air dry. Avoid direct contact with oil based products, if direct contact occurs, clean promptly. Regular maintenance of your Phifertex fabric will ensure an extended life of the fabric. It is recommended to clean the fabric once or twice yearly for moderate use, or more for heavy-use applications.

Can this be sewn with a regular machine, and if so, what would you recommend for thread?
BEST ANSWER: You may need a heavier duty machine, if using outdoors we recommend bonded nylon thread.
I want to use this fabric as a shade covering on a pergola. The fabric would need to be held taught on each end. Will it stretch with time or stay tight? Would this fabric work for this application? Thanks!
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this fabric would likely work for this purpose. It's used a lot in sling chairs, so it shouldn't stretch over time. We recommend ordering a sample to be sure that it will work for your project.
How many yards to do two 21 x21 seats?
BEST ANSWER: That totally depends on what type of chair you have. I have vintage chairs so I could get by with only purchasing the width of my chair. This a GREAT fabric - love the colors. Sorry I could not be more help.--Over buy and make pillows is my suggestion.
is this a good type of material to use when replacing a material in a sling chair?
I will been to place small grommets on each side after creating 4 fold seams to replace present fabric then re- weaving to chair frame . Is this strong enough?

I want to use this as a sort of "valance" atop my screen on my screened porch. I will hang with hooks and grommets. I want to make SURE that it does not ravel and will not need to be sewn. Also - can it be run "railroad" if the 54 inch width is not adequate?
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this Phifertex fabric doesn't fray or need to be sewn for your application. It won't look wrong if used either horizontally or vertically.

i see the product is 54" wide - are the "stripes" in the pattern vertical or horizontal this way?
BEST ANSWER: The stripes are vertical, so they run parallel to the edges.
Would this work as a tablecloth?
BEST ANSWER: Since this fabric is stiff, it would not drape well over the sides, but it makes great table coverings and placemats.
