Why did you choose this?
What is the weight per square yard of this gabardine? Is this or the sweet pink milestone twill more appropriate for a "jean" jacket? I don't want it to be too heavy, but also not too lightweight.
BEST ANSWER: I don't know weight of gabardine, but I do think it's more appropriate for a shirt than a jacket. I made a beautiful shirt with the new long ruffled sleeves and it was perfect in the gabardine. If you're making a light jacket it would be okay, but if you're looking more for a denim type fabric, I think you'd do better to go with the twill. Good luck!
Is this fabric suitable for altar covering? Does it look "rich"?
BEST ANSWER: Yes, gaberdine is strong, slighty stretchy and rich in color. It would make a good cover. Though this shade of pink is too light, very baby pink. I use fushia gaberdine, darker, richer pink. Hope this helps.
Is this washable?
BEST ANSWER: yes it is washable, I wash it in the delicate setting and dry it in the dryer under low heat.
Can I make curtains with this fabric? If so, could I also sew room darkening fabric to the back of the curtain that I would make?
looking for fabric to line inside of hoods is this fabric good for that?
BEST ANSWER: I don't think it would be a great choice. It's beautiful fabric, but not really lining-like.
Is this fabric good for ladies shorts? Is it opaque enough to not show the panty line or the pocket linings? If not what fabric would you suggest?
BEST ANSWER: Yes you can use this fabric for shorts, it is opaque enough. You may see the panty line if the shorts are more fitted. Other fabrics we suggest are challis and polyester linen. Both are about the same (if not a little thinner) than gabardine but are popular for shorts.
Does this fabric stretch? If so, is it 2-way or 4-way stretch?
BEST ANSWER: No, gabardine doesn't stretch.
Can I buy just 2 yards???
