Well first let me say that I ordered online because I can not find it anywhere in Canada and its an amazing product. I wish all our stores would carry this product. It does an amazing job on any garment/shoes etc. Just follow directions as stated and your old garments become brand new, especially when you have a pair of killer black jeans and they fade just pick up a bottle of Rit and you have a whole new pair with the same great fit.

Can I add black rit dye to soft black paint to make it darker?
A shopper on May 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We don't recommend that.
Can I use it in cloth black vans shoes with brown rubber bottom?
A shopper on May 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can use this dye on cloth shoes. The Rit dye may dye the rubber somewhat, but it probably will not be noticeable on brown rubber. To be sure, you can put a waterproof tape or even Vaseline on the rubber when dyeing.
Hello looking to dye a bikini bottom made from materials Lyrca, Vita and polyester. Would you guys recommend me using this?
A shopper on Apr 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The particular dye wouldn't work, but Rit Dyemore Synthetic Dye may work. It might not be possible to get a true black because polyester doesn't absorb the dye as well as other types of materials. See this tutorial on how to use it and how it works on different fibers: www.onlinefabricstore.net/makersmill/rit-dyemore-synthetic-fiber-dye
Do I use cool water or hot water to dye fabric?
A shopper on Apr 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Use hot water, nearly boiling, if possible.
What is the ingredients of Rit liquid dye?
A shopper on Mar 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Sodium chloride, proprietary dyes, and water.
Does this just enhance color?
A shopper on Jan 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The color will be affected by the original color of the fabric. Starting with white fabric, the range of colors is nearly limitless. But if you have a blue fabric, for example, you could not dye it red. It would come out more of a purple. If you want to dye a blue fabric black, this may be possible, though the resulting black might have a blue tint.
After u finish out with cold water can u wash fabric is washer ?After applying the RIT
A shopper on Jan 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: While hand washing is best for things that get dyed, you should be able to wash your fabric in the washer. We recommend using this fixative in addition to help retain as much dye as possible.

Can you use this on dyeable pump shoes? If so how would you dye them?
A shopper on Dec 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It depends on what material the fabric is. It may work on silk, cotton, rayon, linen, and nylon. This tutorial shows how one person did it: www.ritstudio.com/2016/06/17/silk-bridal-shoes-redyed-with-rit/

After dyeing my carpet will rit dye stay permanently?
A shopper on Nov 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Rit dye is not recommended for use on carpet. It will dye cotton, other natural fibers, and nylon, but if your carpet is made out of any other fiber, it won't work. Rit dye also has to be very hot to work properly, and it's best to submerge the item in the dye, especially when trying to achieve a dark color like black.
How to dye a short length of cotton rope?
A shopper on Oct 23, 2016

I'm trying to dye a stretchy belt. Will this work?
A shopper on Oct 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It depends on the material, but because it's stretchy, I'm guessing it's made out of a synthetic material. If this is the case, it won't dye.

Update: We now carry Rit DyeMore, which works on polyester and other synthetic fibers. Find it in the Rit dye section: www.onlinefabricstore.net/brand-rit.aspx?product=fabric-dyes
How much water?
A shopper on Oct 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Depends on what you're dyeing. The general rule of thumb is for 1 pound of dry fabric (about 3 yards), you need 3 gallons of water and half a bottle of liquid dye. For dark or saturated colors, double the amount of dye to 1 bottle.
