Can it be used on carpet?
A shopper on Sep 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi, we would not recommend for use on carpet. This dye works on cotton or other natural fibers. Carpet is usually synthetic and has a protective finish to prevent staining. Even if the fibers were natural, the finish would prevent the dye from working properly.
Need to dye ivory satin table overlays that have some small darker stains on them. I think the fabric is an acrylic blend. What type of dye should I try?
A shopper on Oct 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately, we don't currently carry any dye that will work on a synthetic blend.
Can I dye navy blue into beige?
A shopper on Oct 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Dye will only make things darker and it won't cover the old color, so no, it would not work in this case.
Will a 52.5% cotton 47.5% poly. hoodie dye well?
A shopper on Sep 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Since it is a cotton/poly blend, the cotton portion of the fibers will dye, but the polyester will not. This will result in the color being lighter than if the fabric were 100% cotton. If you want a lighter, less saturated color, this dye will work, but otherwise you will most likely not get the results you want.
Can i use on rubber?
A shopper on Sep 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: While rubber is not a recommended use for Rit dye, but it may or may not work depending on the specific rubber. Some rubber does dye well, some dyes slightly, and some not at all.
My dress is a 60/40 cotton polyester blend with a 100 % polyester slip, should I use the synthetic dye product?
A shopper on Sep 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, using a dye that works on synthetic fabrics would get the best results. The cotton/poly blend part of the dress will dye with Rit dye, but it will be lighter than if you dyed 100% cotton. The cotton part of the blend will accept the dye and the polyester will not. But it will not work on the slip.
