Ripstop fabrics are created using a special reinforcing crosshatch weave that gives it a great strength without a lot of weight. True Timber MC2 70 Denier Ripstop Spring Camouflage fabric is light, strong, and incredibly versatile. Great for outdoor use, ripstop is waterproof and resists tears or rips--and as the name suggests, if a small tear does occur, the special design will help prevent it from spreading. It makes a great tent material or a fantastic kite sail. This fabric features a polyurethane coating with UV inhibitors. Ripstop can also be used in clothing applications, such as pants.

Why did you choose this?
Can this be sewn together with two equal lengths and made into a tarp, if treated with silicone ?
BEST ANSWER: I'm making mine into a bbq grill cover, after lining it with heat resistant fabric and adding a drawstring channel. It does seem like it will be water resistant. It is just ripstop fabric - seems a bit thicker than most, but depending on your intended use, it might hold up. I certainly wouldn't try covering my woodpile with it!
Is this material also stain resistant?
How wide is this?
BEST ANSWER: I bought mine a year ago so I can't measure it now, but I recall that it was just slightly wider than the 59 to 60 inches stated in the description, so just over 5 feet wide.
Can this be machine washed on delicate and hung up to dry?
