Why did you choose this?
Is this sturdy enough for upholstering a chair? I'm looking for a tougher denim fabric not the smooth finish.
BEST ANSWER: I used this fabric to cover a day bed. I washed it first because I wanted to be able to wash it when grandchildren messed on it. It looks great and has held up but I only did this a year ago. Very pleased.
Do you rate your fabrics by double rub testing?
BEST ANSWER: We do not personally conduct the testing on site, we receive the information from our vendors and when applicable, include them in the product description.
what is the difference between upholstery denim and regular denim for clothing?
BEST ANSWER: Upholstery denim is a heavier weight and more durable than apparel denim. It may also have a finish on it that is stain resistant. Machine washing is not recommend because it could cause it to shrink and may wash off any finishes it has. However, some people choose to wash it.
I know next to nothing about fabrics. I need about two yards of a very sturdy, wear-resistant, yet very breathable fabric from which to make a seat cushion. Would denim be a good choice for this, or some other fabric?
How long will it take to send to Perth in Western Australia?
BEST ANSWER: Please contact our customer service at either email@example.com or 877-781-2967 Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm EST for shipping estimates.
If used for outer wear clothing would you reccomend washing the fabric prior to making the jacket?
BEST ANSWER: I would wash it. I made a cover for a day bed that might get spilled on. I washed the fabric because I was unsure of color transfer if kids sat on it with wet swimsuits. It shrank a bit but still looks great and now I know I can wash it. I would wash if making clothing.
