I was looking for a summer dress lining fabric that I could dye if needed. Out of all my options I liked the feel of this & being 100% cotton would take dye easier than synthetic fabric.

I am making a linen skirt, the fabric shows colors through and I need to give it a bit more weight. This fabric will work well with the linen as a lining or underlining, I haven't decided which at this time.. It will be fabulously cool in the summer.
I would not chose cotton lawn if I was expecting to wear pantie hose with the skirt, the fabric would grab the hose, I would more likely chose china silk.

Will this fabric allow light to pass through?
A shopper on Apr 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it's a thin fabric. We recommend ordering a sample if you want to be sure that it will work for your project.
I’m looking for a lightweight fabric that I can sew to the bottom of my curtains so that they go to the floor, but still let the heat from baseboard registers come through. Will this fabric be suitable?
A shopper on Jan 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It may be, but we recommend ordering a sample to be sure that it will work for your project.
Is this material see through?
A shopper on Nov 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It's not completely sheer, but it's very lightweight so you would be able to see what's behind it to a certain extent, especially with the white color.
Is this fabric suitable for a sheer, hand dyed scarf? I am hoping to make some for Christmas gifts.
Emily E on Nov 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is not a sheer fabric.
Would this work for a Christening gown?
A shopper on Jun 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This fabric is very lightweight, almost see-through. It is meant as a lining fabric. It would probably work for a lined dress, but I would be concerned about undergarments showing through with only 1 layer.
Is this fabric washable?
A shopper on May 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: yes. wash fabric before making it up in case it shrinks. Nothing too hot, and possibly hang to dry, or dry in a dryer with medium heat.
Could this be used for drapery panels instead of sheers?
A shopper on Apr 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This fabric isn't quite sheer. We recommend ordering a sample to be sure that it will work for your project.

This is lovely fabric, very soft, lightweight and finely woven. Perfect for bodice lining in children's clothing as it is not bulky and very comfortable on the skin.

So soft
This lawn is so soft I bought it for lining dresses which it will be perfect for. It is very lightweight so if you were using it for a garment like a dress it is transparent, and you would need to line it however a blouse would probably be ok. I think it would be great for womens summer nightdresses. The price is great and it was delivered very fast and packaged very well. I will buy more of this when i run out

great for wing needle or hemstitch needle
I'm stabilizing the cloth, and using the hemstitch stitches on my sewing machine, sewing the hemstitch into the looser woven lawn I like the dainty matte look of the cloth, and its softness.

I also use the cotton lawn for smocking delicate little baby dresses.
