Why did you choose this?
Is this linen actually imported from Ireland?
Is this sturdy enough to use for church linens such as purifcators?
BEST ANSWER: Absolutely very good for church linens. My priest, Fr. Love likes the half dozen purificators I have made. I will make more as needed. These pieces launder and iron very nicely. I plan to make a set of 3 pall covers next before Lenten season begins. Rochelle Berfield, Mineola, TX
Is this fabric good for pants ?
BEST ANSWER: The fabric is gorgeous, but sheer. Best use for blouses and dresses with cotton( batiste) lining.
Could this be used as backing for quilts?
BEST ANSWER: I bought this to use as a purificator for church. However, it wasn't as finely woven as I had hoped. Also, it wrinkled quite a bit after washing, It could be used as a quilt backing but I do think you could find something better.
Is this fabric suitable for baptismal handkerchiefs?
BEST ANSWER: I use it for wedding hankies. It is delicate and looks good with lace. I think you could use for a baby without any problems.
I want to have this embroidered. Is it thick enough for that?
BEST ANSWER: I will add a fusible stablilzer for any machine embroidery that I attempt. This has worked well on similar fabrics in the past.
Is this linen suitable for lingerie?
BEST ANSWER: A night-gown or night-shirt would be doable. I would not like a slip, panties or chemise from it though.
Is this heavy enough for an altar cloth?
