Why did you choose this?
Can you use fabric glue to attach the tape?
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can use fabric glue to attach it.
Is there a way to attach the ring tape without stitching through the decorator fabric?
BEST ANSWER: You might be able to use fabric glue depending on the thickness of your decorator fabric. When making my Roman shade I sewed the tape to my lining then sewed the lining to the decorator fabric in evenly spaced horizontal rows where I wanted the shade to pick up. When in the up position the horizontal stitching is hidden in the folds. You will need the tape attached fully or the fabric won't pick up and fold properly.
Can this tape be used for the dowel rod as well?
BEST ANSWER: The rings on this tape are meant only for the cord. The dowels should be attached separately.
I have made quite a few roman shades over the years and always have sewn the rings on individually. I currently have 4 shades that I have not added the rings and was considering using the tape with the rings already attached - however, the spacing on the WarmWindow fabric is 4 inches apart - not 5 inches - so how does one get this to work? I seems apparent that after the tape is placed and the first ring lines up with the crosswise seam - the rest of the rings will be out of alignment. What is the solution?
BEST ANSWER: The roman shade tape is great if the distance between rings doesn’t matter, but if you need a specific distance, the individual rings are better. But there is a way you could still use the tape in your case. Fold the tape between each ring (with the ring side of the tape facing each other) and sew a seam across the tape so that, when opened back up, there’s now 4” between each ring. Then you could cut off the extra tape on the back.
Not my favorite tape
The material had too much stretch so I had to sew some pleats in the tape on one side so it would match up with the other side!
