I was looking for burlap bags that I could place over my fig tree for winter protection in Phila. Pa. These bags seem to be an easier method than having to cut from a roll of burlap.
This is the first time I'm trying this method so I hope it works!
Thank you!

Live in West Texas and we have a horrible issue with sticker burrs. Told to fill burlap bags with rocks and drag them across the stickers to pick them up out of your yard. Hope it works.

Outdoor planters are so expensive. I purchase small laundry baskets. I am placing a laundry basket inside each burlap bag, folding the bag into the inside of the basket and filling it with potting soil. I planted canas earlier in the season and they need more root room to grow. I will then add a decorative rope or twine around the top rim of the basket to make the pot complete. Rustic and attractive AND most importantly, inexpensive.

Do these bags smell bad and shed burlap?
A shopper on Jul 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The jute has a smell, but since it's hydrocarbon free, it doesn't have the kerosene-like odor some burlap has. Yes, it sheds like any burlap. This isn't a refined product like our color burlap that is made for crafts and decor.
Can this bag be used for potato sack races for young adults and children?

What's the capacity? I miss looking for at least 20 gallons. Is it good for planting tomatoes?
