Is this the best duck to make curtains out of?
A shopper on Jan 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: 7 oz duck cloth would be great for curtains because it's not stiff at all, though don't expect it to work as block out curtains without a block out backing.
I'm searching for fabric to line really nice bags. Is this fabric quality good? Also, can you recommend other fabrics that make great liners that do not shrink.
Precious P on May 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We recommend ordering a sample to be sure that it will work for your project, cotton prints and satin make nice liners for bags.
What color does this fabric lean toward? Is it a natural that has some yellow in it? A cream, ivory or white? I will be making roman shades yet do not want them to be on the natural/yellowish side. thanks!!
A shopper on Apr 3, 2017

Does light pass thru this 7 oz cotton duck? Is it see thru at night? (for curtains)

BEST ANSWER: No, you would not be able to see through it at night.
Would this work to cover a plaid couch, or would it show through?
A shopper on Nov 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Ii might show through if there is a lot of contrast in the plaid you are trying to cover. I used it for a futon cover, but one with a solid fabric underneath. I think there is a heavier weight duck that you might want to try instead. I would suggest that you get samples first, before you purchase enough for an entire couch.
What is the best weight for slip covers? Do you have a neutral print to reduce the unsightliness of spills?
A shopper on Sep 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The 7 oz, 9.3 oz and 10 oz would all work, so it depends on personal preference. You can order samples if you want to compare.

We have plenty of prints. You can take a look at these:

Many of the prints are dry cleaning recommended, but some people choose to wash them. This article explains why and what could happen to the fabric if machine washed:

The canvas will likely shrink if washed, so make sure to pre-wash it. For extra protection against spills, use Scotchgard after washing.

Can you deliver 60 yards already pre washed or there is another with some polyester mix? thank you
A shopper on Feb 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This canvas is not pre-washed. We don't have any canvas with polyester, but we have a poly cotton twill that is about the same weight. It doesn't have the same look, but it is preshrunk.

since this fabric shrinks , I am making chair covers, should I wash the cloth before I make the slip covers? I need a fabric that I can wash in case the chair slip covers stain from food... what do you recommend pre-wash or use another fabric all together?
marilyn a on Jan 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes---wash and dry before cutting the fabric for making your chair covers...that will take care of the shrinkage---the fabric is fine for covers, but you must prewash and dry...or the covers will not be washable.
Can 7 oz. COTTON duck be used to make painted clothing?
A shopper on Nov 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I paint on it and use it for fabric books. You could use it to make clothing, it's not a stiff duck like the heavier ones are.
does this fabric shrink when washed?
A shopper on Nov 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it does shrink. I would say to figure around 10%.
Is this the right weight of fabric for making chair slip covers?
A shopper on Oct 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: We suggest ordering a couple of samples to see which would work best for you. The 9.3 oz or 10 oz would be good medium weights for slipcovers. But 12 oz or 7 oz could also work, depending on how thick you want them to be.
Can this be used to make roman shades ?
A shopper on Oct 16, 2016

Great value!
This was a great value for the purchase price. I bought 100 yards and it came neatly on a bolt, at all 63" width. It is easy to pull pieces from the bolt. I washed all my pieces on warm/warm and machine dried them and they came out very soft (although in need of an ironing). I lost about 3" in length when I washed the pieces so I would advise cutting some excess before you wash it.

Great product, fabulous service
I purchased this duck fabric to cover acoustic insulation on the walls of a studio barn. The walls were then paneled with horizontal pine planks...the duck fabric served as the perfect barrier between the insulation and the pine.
The sales representative was extremely helpful...I gave the wall dimensions in square feet and she patiently computed the amount of fabric I would need in yards. The fabric arrived the following day. Truly superb service. Excellent price. Thank you!
Fabric used as liner between horizontal panels (shown here) and acoustic insulation underneath.
