You will most often find it on the underside of a chair or sofa covering the springs and webbing. It can also be referred to as a dust cloth and can be found on the bottom of lamp bases to hide the wires and prevent scratching. Other uses are a backing for some sewing and embroidery projects and to create pattern templates.

purchased this to finish off the underneath side of a chair I am reupholstering. My mother always taught me the inside( or in this case the underneath side) of a project that you don't see should look just as 'clean and neat' as the side you DO see! That always stuck with me!

Anyone know if this material has a fire rating?
A shopper on Apr 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We're working on getting an answer from our vendor but in the meantime we'll provide what we think the best answer is: This fabric melts when we tested it with a lighter so it's probably best not to keep it near any open flames or sources of heat.
How much material do I need for a full size boxspring?

how does this hold up against cats?
A shopper on Sep 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It won't. Cambric is quite light weight and it will tear under a cat's claws. It's for covering the bottom of your upholstery where no one will touch or sit.
Hello! I would like to buy this to cover under my leather chairs. I was wondering whether it is heavy duty or easy to rip? Thank you =)
A shopper on Jun 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Cambric isn't really heavy duty as a whole as it serve as more of a decorative finish. We recommend ordering a sample to be sure that it will work for your project.
Is this the same type of fabric used for those non-woven bags?
A shopper on Jul 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The cambric dust cover is a bit like paper and cloth mixture. I use it after I recover a dining room chair on the bottom to cover all the rough edges of the fabric. I am not sure you would use it as a bag. It can tear but not easily unless pierced with something sharp. Hope this answers your question. Denise
