I chose the blue ink marking pen because the mark remains until I remove it by washing. I was not able to find this type of pen at my local store where I would purchase it. Instead I purchased a purple marking pen with fades quickly from light exposure. Too fast for me to keep up with! Back to my trusted blue marking pens.

I have washed the blue marks off with plain water, and they come back. I have also tried washing them off with a bit of liquid soap and water and they still come back. What can I use to get them off permanently?

BEST ANSWER: The directions on the back of this state that some fiber contents and finishes or dyes (red, pink) may not be suitable for use with this product. Dritz recommends using this on washable fabric, not anything that is dry-clean only. It was recommended to test first on an inconspicuous area. Also recommended was to mark the fabric lightly and not store the project for an extended period of time. It is also not recommended not to iron over the marks or launder the project before completely removing the marks with a damp, clean cloth and plain water. Some laundry products contain sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate which may set the marks. If you followed the instructions and the marks are still there, at this point the marks may be there to stay, unfortunately.
