making albs for use in Catholic Mass. The sample was lovely and the right shade of white (quite bright) to match the lace I have. I look forward to sewing with it. And, yes, I do plan to wash it, on hot, and dry it prior to sewing as all linen should be washable. I'd rather shrink it now than shrink it after I sew it!

Why can it not be washed, if used to make altar linen for example, which cannot be dry cleaned?
A shopper on Dec 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: good morning...I bought this linen and made napkins...I didn't realize that it was not supposed to be washed!...I washed the fabric before I made the napkins and have washed them since I made them! they're grand... I hope that helps you...good luck!

lovely linen, nice heavy weight, washes very well
Although it says "dry clean only," it can definitely be washed. And it washed up beautifully! It is a nice heavy weight, and I especially appreciate that it's so bright white. I needed bright white linen to match some lace. I ordered a swatch, and the fabric I ordered matched the swatch. Thank you!
