I'm trying to come up with the very best material to make a princess bed for my daughter when she comes home from the hospital after cancer treatments. I'm so torn between fabrics: white mirror organza,?white crushed organza? white chiffon? ... Sadly, I'm not much of a DIY Mom but I want to be able to give this to her as a gift for all her strength, Pain, & tests in her Faith. She loves wearing Angel Feathered Wings so I figured I'd dress it up with feathers, boas, & sparkle lights. I am so very open to any & all suggestions & would be eternally grateful for any valuable insight from much more experienced craftspeople. I bought a 12" embroidery hoop to feed the fabric thru & ribbon to tie it up to a hook above her ceiling. She has a queen bed...and I'm not sure how much I need. For example, this piece is 58-60" wide, which is a great width. But according to my calculations, I'd need at least 4-5 yards at that width to fit her bed & at least 90" inches in length for t so flow loosely.
I do pray someone reads this...Abbey & I will be very excited once her Mom gets it in gear and surprises her in time for Christmas!!

I was sent this email from the fabric store. I am so sorry your daughter is suffering, I do hope she is well soon and your family has some respite. It must be hard for all of you.

I would go with this fabric. The chiffon is too weak to support what you want. The crushed organza is a fine choice if you want privacy for her. You will not really be able to see through it and the crushed look might overwhelm the project. Us it if you have a more eclectic room. I personally like the clean lines and a traditional look. If this is more like your interest , then go with the organza. It is strong and will serve your needs well. Hope this helps.

Good Luck,
can organza be used for bridal veils?
A shopper on Jan 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It can, although tulle is more popular. We recommend ordering a sample to be sure that it will work for your project.
can this be used for interfacing?
A shopper on Dec 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No this is not meant to be used for interfacing.

This fabric was exactly what I wanted. It came neatly on a cardboard roll in a dark heavy plastic bag. The only negative thing is it took so long to arrive between the estimated arrival date being wrong, due to lack of inventory, and the actual arrival date. At one point your messages weren't sure it was even going to arrive.
