Why did you choose this?
I am looking for material to make large table cloths. Want them to heavy as a commercial table cloth used say for catering. Any suggestions?
BEST ANSWER: This is wonderful material if you want something heavy. I didn't explain that I wanted it for pillowcases or I would have not ordered it. I ordered one yard and will probably use it for place mats. This should work fine for what you want to use it for. I don't know how it washes up or irons, as I have yet to use it.
Is this fabric heavier than denim? Than duck?
BEST ANSWER: The fabric weight is closer to duck yet wouldn't say it's heavier than duck or denim. Used it to make a zippered covering for my ironing board when it's folded up and mounted on the wall brackets in my sewing room. Happy w/ the results - holds its shape well. Hope this info's helpful -
? is it good for baptism robes
BEST ANSWER: While the fabric is thick enough for the robes, it would be very heavy once it is wet. Also because of the thickness, it will not drape but stand out from the body. I would order a yard and make a mini robe to see how it works for you.
Would this fabric be suitable to dye?
Does this fabric shrink?
BEST ANSWER: It is preshrunk but may shrink further if cared for inappropriately.
